Scratch on Windscreen

Put new tax in my g/f's Dynamique last week and noticed there is a scratch about 2 inchs long on the outside of the windscreen. Feck knows how it got there.

How do I go about getting this removed?

Plastic polish MAY help, not sure though

www.frost.co.uk sell glass polishing kits, will deform the screen though in order to polish out if it is deep.
