Scratched xbox game

Went to play COD 2 and it would not play due to a big scratch on disc so decided to use youtube for a solution and found the tooth paste method so gave it ago first attempt nothing but on the second attempt but disc back into xbox and it works so decided to try it out on cod world at war whih i had to to game for them to fix without any joy and now that also works. Have any of you lot tried this method of cleaning a disc ?

id be installin it to the hdd just in case too, doesnt use the disc after the initial load then

Toothpaste is simply a mild abrasive polish so should work well, although I am sure I have some better polishes...

I've used T-Cut in the past on old Dreamcast games and that worked well. Have to be careful with it though.

toothpaste has never worked before for me, tried it on a few games...just take it to blockbuster and they'll use there disk cleaning machine for 2 pounds i think, got all my games working again and removed all scratches..

t-cut or similar does wonders. always work from centre out tho, not in circles

Ye, By any chance do you have your games console stood up right ?

I had** my xbox verticle before and the games used to get a scratch on them after a bit of excessive playing. I went down to grainger games to get it repaired ( Cost about £1.00 for one disk ) and he told me that if you have it stood upright and on carpet or anything like carpet, the machine will wobble side to side with the fan and the motors going full wack. This obviously means the disk is not always upright and can touch the lens causing both to f*ck up.

Just a tip if you have it verticle on carpet!!!

nope never have it stood up as i know this can scratch the discs

SRP works quite well aswell
