Sealing/protecting wheels

  172 cup
Hi all just brought some brand new alloys and really want to put something on them to give some extra protection. I do have some collinte 476 wax, would that be good to use. Or can anyone suggest something else?

Use a nano sealant or don't waste your time. Cquartz or Gtechniq C5.

Surface needs to be very clean. Get some panel wipe from your local motorfactors thats used in bodyshops.
Dont listen to people dribbling on that you need IPA.

Yes that'll do it. And don't bother with decontaminating or polishing them either. In fact, throw some mud in with the nano sealant - that should give it some extra oomph.

I use Armourall Shield, it comes in a spray can. Wash you wheels then spray it on, it works like a wax to protect your wheels, should last for up to 8 washes before needing to be reapplied. It's about £7.99 from Halfords.

Oh do please elaborate, it seems that all the Pro Detailers have got it all wrong and must be told immediately.

can you also confirm the cost of this panel wipe?

If you look on DW a lot of the pros use panel wipe(mainly the bodyshop based ones)
It's used to cleanse the panel before any paint is applied.
Its safer than IPA and you don't need to mess about with dilutions.
Should be able to get 5 litres from you local body shop suppliers for about £10.

even tho your wheels are new, possibilities are , there will be silicons and of such on the surface.

thus needing a darn good IPA wipe down for the C5 to have maximum ' cling '
