Seat Runners Problem

got oe seats on my FF 172, lately just on the P/S when you lift the lever to pull the seats back and forth they dont lock into position they just slide back and forth they only lock when they far back, they tilt fine.

if you want to move the seat forward a tadge they dont lock into position

Any ideas?

My 172 does this aswell, though not all the time, just thought it needed to click back into place once you've let someone in the back tbh

yeah same here dosnt do it all the time, someone thought it was fixed but it's gone back to the problem

Mine does this too, passenger side one has to be pushed all the way back for it to click, then you can move it forward and lock it into place again. Otherwise it just flails backwards and forwards on its own.

mine dosnt do that bit in BOLD, the rest as you said is what mine does? any recomendations on what on how to fix and what is causing this issue?

Mine does the opposite.. i go to recline it (to let a passanger in) and it doesnt :S wtf

Oh, upon reading again this is what mine does:

When pulling lever to recline seat forward to let someone in the back it will only lock into place when pushed all the way back on the runners, then you can move it forward and it will lock wherever. It also doesnt lock the seat recliner unless you push the lever all the way down as something seems to be sticking.

Could just be dirt in the runners?

Ive had to spray endless amounts of WD40 in mine as the previous owner clogged them up with sand and dirt, they had also managed to rust :S

Give this a try, when you let people in the back, put the backrest back first and it should click into place. mines also does this. think its so you can move the seat forward when you lift the lever to make more room to get in the back and i dont think it resets itself until you put the backrest back into its normal position again. I could be wrong so dont quote me.

As for the recliner, must be something sticking or in the way or like you say, its sticking

i'll give some WD40 a go, and have a look if i can spot anything in the way on the runners, had a look but couldnt see anything, dont think at the mo i can get the seats of and have a proper look
