Securing a sub?

  172 Cup
In a standard Cup boot (i.e no false floor or anything of that ilk)..

Lots of Velcro on the bottom?

  MINI Cooper S
Chuck a load of s**t in the boot with it, like i have mine :) Holds mine in place lol. Bowling balls, ice skates, cable reets... just some of the random crap in my boot!

Please tell me you're taking the piss! lol

Having an unsecured sub in the boot, with bowling balls and sharpened blades attached to heavy skates...

Do you want to decapitate yourself in an accident?? LoL

lol ^ everything will be bound together with that boot 'residue' you get after everything has been still for ages, takes a sledgehammer to prize things away hehe

I used bits of wood between my sub box and the boot, held it nicely

Tho it was 2 10"'s in a massive mdf box, was hardly gonna go anywhere

on the base of the rear bench (in the boot) is there 2 hooks like on my ph1? if so do as i am and use a bungee strap. if not get a 2nd hand boot carpet, cut out under the sub and velcro to the boot floor.

I am actually not taking the piss lol... i know i shouldn't have it all in there, but i go skating + bowling a lot, so its easier to just keep them in there... one day soon i think i'll clear it out and get a proper false floor to attach my sub to :)

just get the "z" clips from some mecarno or go but a small z bracket and 2 little screws and there you go easy and looks neater plus if u go round a corner and the sudb cant slide then chances are it might fall over unless its one of them really heavy 1s lol

i drilled mine through the boot floor, through the sub box, bolted straight through both with huge washers.

few months later when ide sold the car, someone broke into the boot and tried to steal the sub, they couldnt get it out, bend the floor slightly granted, but couldnt get it out, noobs.

lol its ideal to bold it ... i had one pinched from my car but i had a single bold through the sub box into the boot floor and they seemed to spin it around as if they thorght it was on a thread and riped a hole in the carpet :| must of been there a while lmao wreked the sub and amp just to piss me off and unlocked all my doors and left everything open

scruffy chavs are morons some times

i made myself a new bootfloor and covered it then drilled holes and cabel tied the sub in place

works a treat, can even lift up to get to spare
sub is easy to tie down tho

no pics of it in place tho

Get it bolted down!

I've been stunned at the results & force of a "light shunt"

A twin 15" subbox (with subs) force its way past the rear seats, breaking the front head-rests and creating a huge bulge in the roof of a Bora...

... wait for it...

...rear-ended at 35ish mph in a 40 zone!

Haven't had anything loose in my boot since

I initially thought of bolting it to the floor, I was just worried about rust proofing the hole again afterwards.
