for those of you who have had a cat 1 fitted,

how much did your insurance lower by?

Nothing....they werent even interested in any alarm, just as long as it was immobilised. Even asked about a Tracker.....same answer.

I think alarms are just for peace of mind.

James you will struggle to find an insurer who is interested in whether you have a CAT1 alarm fitted or not. Most just want to hear you have an imobiliser. For example I called Tesco and Elephant, probably the 2 most popular insurance companies for people within ClioSPort, and asked how much discount they would offer me if I had a Cat 1 alarm fitted, Tracker and security film fitted to the windows (i was bored).

Total reduction = £5.

I dunno but I ordered a cat 1 system upgrade to my car when I ordered it the car will be with me in a few weeks.
peace of mind for sure, and surely some discount at least....
