Selling but what next?

Hiya guys, over the next week or so I will be getting my car up for sale properly, but am after some advice what to go for next. Including the money from sale of my car should be able to look upto about £3k. What would people recommend? Just been looking at Honda Civic CRX's but not sure about them. Was alos looking at buying Akira's mk1 but with the insurance quotes I've been getting on faster cars like the CRX am thinking I might not be needing to downgrade afterall.

they dont get that cheap untill over 100k miles do they? I need something that will be reliable as I need a car for work. I know I'm pushing my luck but gotta try
