Selling The 182

  182
gonna trade it in for a audi tt or a r32 what do u lot think i should do, i do love my 182 but little nagging problems since the days of my 172 cup and now 182 are getting to me so im gonna switch soon or do i wait for the new rs

  MINI JCW
Id go for the R32, although you are going to be looking at much higher running costs, a larger initial outlay for a car with loads more miles on it.

There are many plus though better build etc

I wouldnt bother with the 197, similar to the 182 and will probably have the usual Renault faults

  BMW M3
I was pondering your situation for myself as my 182 is in and out the garage far too often.....

Was thinking along the lines of an Audi S3, LCR, or Golf GTi Mergeo (spelling) 250 edition

  RB 200 Cup!
get an astra vxr - 18995 brand new which is still cheaper than a r32 might be plus they look the mutts nuts

More grip and power, but not the same enjoyment...

How much are second hand RX8s? I did my National B in one and though it handled well and i thought it sounded sweet too.

I would say a Mini Cooper S but they aren't 100% reliable, you'd need a 2005 facelift to be sure.

I jumped into my Dad's at the weekend...It's a riot!!! Just as much fun as the clio...

  Clio 172 mk2
R32 is a great car but there's always a catch.

Drinks fuel and expensive to run/insure.

IMHO Audi S3 would be a better option.

  182 Cup, (2nd one)
I'd go for the R32.
Got to drive a TT as a company car for a couple of years- boring

get the new Focus ST, thats what I want to get!!! :)

same here. I really didn't like the look of the new focus until I saw the ST on Top Gear. It even looks great in that orange colour they do. Infact, that is probably the colour I would go for

  BMW M3
Are we talking old or new R32. Just passed one (new) pulling out of a t-juntion and they sound sweet as Fu*k. Would love one of them but they arent much faster then the gti and cost way more.

to 60, the R32 should hit 100 in about 15.5sec (the mk4 one did) and the GTI 18secs

quite a big difference

Sorry mate.... meant to say thats was the difference between the two on the top gear track set by the stig.

  FN2 Type R +MK6 Golf
A lot of money for a golf at the end of the day though.
My TDI was a lot for what it is but it is what it is....

Civic let down by its lifeless, light steering, says my friend who drove one recently.

I did drive an Integra Type R on Monday and my 172 Cup was the better drive. By a fair way. I was disappointed, i am surprised to say; i expected better.

In fact, my friend (who has been looking for an Integra to buy) drove it as well, and another Integra in Bristol on Saturday. Then i let him drive my Cup when we got home and he loved it so much he changed his mind; we are going to see a 172 Cup for him on Saturday :D

R32 is, by all accounts, a very capable car. But the Mk5 GTi is meant to be a better drive. All in all i think you will miss the steering and handling of the 182; these little Renaults are beautiful to drive.

Its the 'fun factor' that is so often missing from German cars; they specialise in uninspiring, uninvolving drives. Mk5 Golf GTi is an exception, apparently.

I understand you when you say you just want a change, i am also a 'car fidget'. If i were you i would go completely the other way. Any FWD hatch you will buy you will automatically compare to the 182, and chances are it will lose, or cost you a ton of money just to feel much the same.

RX7? Late model twin turbo is a nutcase. Tons of power and rear-wheel-drive. An easy 300bhp. If i could insure one (give me a few years...) I would have one in a second.

You can get a minter with a newly rebuilt, guaranteed engine for under £10k.
