Selling the beast...

Hi guys!

After almost a Year or owning my beloved Renault Clio v6 255 I have decided to sell due some ever more occurring problems.

It was obscured of me for buying a two seat car with no boot. I took them for granted and I definitely learnt the hard way!

My wife to be & I are considering starting up a family and the V6 will simple not do, unless I put it that nice little area under the bonnet; shame that she isn’t to keen on that idea.

We both like driving performance cars and the v6 delivered that perfectly, the sound and the pick from 60-140 is fantastically phenomenal!

I am man of values, family comes first, job comes second and then it’s the car. The car isn’t for me; it would more suit a single stud that works in the stock market. The car is great for what is it, its no more then a flashy performance car who’s bark is worse then its bite.

Since I got the car I have a few high speed & dangerous racers and the car doesn’t handle as good as I would like it. Shame because the car looks absolutely amazing, I only wished that it went like it looked.

Well I suppose most of you are interested to find out what car I will be getting next, at the moment I am looking at a Mitsubishi Evo 340 or I am hoping to get a test drive in the new FQ400. It seems like the perfect car for me, my wife and family; its four doors, spacious, boot and it can pretty much out do most things on the road.

It has been a great nine months, but that’s all I really want from this car.

There are some around but to expensive to maintain service ever 3500 miles iirc, and £45,000 to buy (ouch)

I'd get a 340. It'll be plenty quick enough, is cheaper to buy and doesn't have the rediculous running costs.

I had to laugh when I read that. I was thinking this bloke is going to buy an X5 or something for his family – then it turns out a Bansai EVO thing is on the shopping list.

Nice to see an honest report on the reasons for getting rid of it. Interesting how so many of them change hands so quickly/often.

Agree with Lagerlout... the servicing is every 6000 miles and it costs a bomb. Great big turbo lag on the FQ400.

Defo would say get the 340

I am not to fond of a big family car, yea they are safe and all but only as safe as the way you drive them. I been driving about 10 years

Yea I been reading up on the FQ400, seems abit pants really. Plus there are a few nice 340 i have seen, going to look at some next week.

Ant_V6, We both know that the V6s BARK is worse then its BITE.

Don't get me wrong fellas, the car is great...just isn't for me!

Evo are nice, and probably the quickest thing you could by for that sort of car. But as Clarkson says "its like sitting inside a binliner".
For the same money you could probably get a second hand M3 or V8 M5 with about 20k miles on the clock, and it will probably hold its value better. It will be a much nicer place to be in.
