SERV Light on its own?

  Mazda3 2.2D 185BHP
Last night when returning from Ikea with lots of stuff in the car the SERV light came on.

I was under the impression it comes on with a second light to show a fault but this was on its own.

I didn't see it on this morning though.

Does anyone have a clue to what it may be? I do have the RStuner so can check for codes later when i get home.

Only thing i have thought of is that i had the passenger seat folded forward with some stuff up agsaint it and it was moving about a lot on the drive back, could it have simply been the airbag sensor causing the SERV light to pop up?

Oil level is fine, i checked this morning. (should bloody be as was replaced in may!)

Prob a non thread but felt like asking anyway.

Oh and the car is at the garage getting various bits done such as Steering wheel, Powerflex mounts, AC Regas and bits and bobs so i have informed them too..--- Prob makes this thread evan more useless :p But i will update it with the cause for anyone else to see when i know

Wiggle wires under the seat. Also check they are not damaged at all.

Hope you ate lots of hotdogs before you left!

Are you sure that all the other lights have bulbs in them?

If it's inly the serv light it's the oil level.
That's odd. As i checked it yesterday morning and it was showing in the middle of the markers. unless the sensor is on the fritz?
SRS still have the car so cant check again just yet

Gordon down at SRS will have sorted it. Good bloke.

Would you say he is as good as the specialists whe have on here? He checked timing and said it was spot on and I. Want to be 100% sure. If he is known to be good then I won't take it elsewhere to be checked again.

Have you checked your oil level?
Ignore the OBC's reading and check it yourself with the dip stick.

Yeah oils fine, just gave it an oil change last week! Bang in the middle. It did go off the other day, but came on again the next trip.

Brake fluid will normally bring on the SERV and Brake warning light. I have seen connection problems with the light/rain sensor bring on the SERV before.

The UCH interprets the open circuit as a configuration error which can turn it on.
