Service history

Car  172 MKII FF
Hi,

How can I find the full service history of my 02 reg RS 172? I'm just wondering because the car's mileage is now approaching 48k. I have a list of documents in the booklet that I got with the car when I purchased a few weeks ago. Is this the only way to find the full service history? Looking through the documents in the booklet I don't see a cambelt change and I believe this is due at 72k or 5 years - my car is approaching 5 years.

Have you got, or looked in your service booklet? Should have a pinkish cover and say maintenaince and service on it. If not I'd goto Renault, any work they've carried out, at any dealer, is recorded. No joy after that I'd ring the previous owner.

Any invoices????
 
I don't have a pinkish cover, I just have a black leather wallet with the car manual in and receipts from Renault and some private places. Can't see anything to do with cambelts on any of these receipts. I will give Renault a call and see what they say.
 
i expect the car was sold due to needing a cam belt change, i just brought a 172 that needs a belt ASAP

That has crossed my mind. Best place to get one fitted? I know they are very expensive from a main dealer.

Actually, is their anyway to tell if it has been done by looking/checking for signs?
 
Not really you could check they aux belt to see if that looks newish but to be fair you would have to strip it down. Where are you based?
 
the exact same thing happened to me, i bought one at 43k.
i rang renault customer sevice history, they told me where it originated from,
then i rang them, and they told me everything...
 
Im doing mine next sat, beware Ktec have had problems with there belt ive heard even though there genuine. I need to find the history of mine as well i have some repiets from another dealer so going to ring them when im sorted.
 
Probelms as in wrong belt have been sent out or something im not sure on the details it has been mentioned on here

Thats was a genuine mistake there two cambelt kits one with a 10 and one with an 11mm bolt for the tensioner from memory Ktec never aksed the customer and forgot and sent the wrong one out.
