Service History

Car  Clio 182
Hi,

Just a quick one Is there any way of finding out the service history on a clio i bought.
It has some history like reciepts for work carried out but no Service book as this was stolen when the car was.

Thanks in advance.

The car is mint and i got it cheap, Its got service history from 19,000 miles. when the owner before me had it.
She bought it straight after it was stolen and had a full RAC inspection done which showed the damage to the car, there was only scratches and a couple of minor dents nothing major. All belts and a full service is being done on Saturday.
I knew what i was looking for when i bought this one as i have had 172's in the past

Service history doesn't bother me in the slightly, maybe I'm a risk taker

The most reliable car I ever owned had no history at all... in fact the only car I've ever bought with full history was my Clio, which gave me untold trouble.

i work for VW, and if a customer wants a replacement service book the servicing dealer can re-stamp a new one.

I realise thats VW,but might be worth popping into your local dealer and asking mate?

Ah that's fair enough lad. Just thinking as a buyer after you, asking the same questions but at you not on a forum. But if you've had the checks, bonny!

Fair enough. As long as you keep ontop of it then i'm sure it will be fine. There is no way of obtaining a service history though.

you can mate, When i had my 182 i was moving house a few years back and like a pleb misplaced the service book, I approached my dealer and explained the situation.. I had a folder full of reciepts and im sure if the new owner is on here he will testify (J200 SPT).. Anyway paid £10 to get a new book and then all they did was search the service computer thingy-ma-bob and then they entered all the correct information back in.. Worth £10 IMO as made it much easier to sell

No prob.. Not sure if everyone charges a tenner but my local dealer is owned by a tight fisted cnut so would take everything he could.. Defo worth enquiring though
