My Service Lights and Traction control light both came on this morning. The traction control (the one that flashes when you wheelspin) is now permanently on.
Does anyone know what this could be? Maybe lack of tyre tread and new brake pads are required?
Dont think so but their easily checked, turn your wheel so you can see the raised notches in the tyre treads and if they're worn to or below the notches you need new tyres.
Look at your brake pads and see how much pad is left between the disc and the metal backing plate of the pad.
What happened with this please Steve??! Mine came on this morning ?! ive turend the igniton off and it seems to have gone off now?! lets hope!?? My tyres are all good!
Traction control is controlled between the abs computer and the injection computer. It uses the wheel speed sensors to determine if the wheels are locked/ spinning. Tyre tread or low pads would have no affect on the light being permanently on. There will probably be a stored fault on the abs computer which you'd need clip to view.
I would just keep an eye on it. mines been on before but it went out and never came back. Paul you worry too much! treat it like you stole it!
