Service light as a result of missing airbags

From what I've read on here, the service light comes on when there is an airbag fault, along with the airbag light?

I need to airbag light to be off and never show, so I guess I can remove the bulb from that, but to get the service light off I guess I need to add the resistors to the plugs as in the various guides?

What does the service light normally show? If it's not been reset from the last service I assume it will just stay on?

Cheers

  dan's cast offs.
service light isn't a 'your car needs servicing light'. resistors will sort both out if rest of the system is fine.

You can programme the airbags out on clip. I've done this for the pretensioners and side airbags when fitting new seats. Resistors otherwise m3r3 from maplin if I remember right.

Just get them programmed out like Graham says. They'll come on and go off when they're supposed to.

Resistors are a pikey fix.
