Servicing 182 Sport - Where to go??

  182 sport
I just phoned the main dealers near me and had 2 costly quotes!!!

I need the 36k service and the car is 5 years old later this year so possible cambelt change as well, so heres how i got on:--

1st Quote Renault Grantham
£448.58 for service and Aux belt, they didnt mention timing belt change
(Service on its own with no belts £195.88)

2nd Quote Renault Nottingham
£571.05 for service and Aux belt. To change timing belt, aux belt and service is £1067.25

So, i live in Newark Nottinghamshire, where within reasonable distance would anyone recommend i take the car to get serviced, or should i buy parts and get a local spanner to fix it?

In the exact same boat as you mate - planning on taking my 182 to MGC Servicing in Lenton (Renault Specialist). The owner, Mike, sounds like he knows what he is talking about and has given me some really competative quotes for service and belt change - I think he quoted around £450 for both timing and AUX belt change and around £160 for full service. They have done many 172/182 belt changes before also.

My mate had a service done on his Megane there and was very pleased with the level of service and pricing and my Mrs' Clio 1.2 is due timing and AUX belt changes and Mike has just quoted me £213 for that.

be careful because some fitters have to cut a piece from somewhere on the metalwork to do the belts as it saves them alot of time... a friend in renault london told me this... i was quoted £400 for all belts & kits with a full service by him but that is mates rates... still gotta find the cash tho lol

My house to GDI and back to mine = Distance: 268 miles, about 4 hours 23 mins

Not as far as Rentech but there's no way I'd travel that far. What are you meant to do while you wait for the work to be done!?
