Servicing question.

  GTD, Lupo
Seeing as my 200 is my first new car I'm a little confused over what is need when it comes to servicing.

Do I have to get Renault to service it or can I take it else where without voiding my warrenty?

Check the wording of the warranty, but I believe that under current legislation the dealer is not allowed to void a warranty if you use an independent to service the car, if they use genuine parts. That's what my dealer told me anyway - some of them are decent and you could just ring your local one, to be honest.

However, I believe this bit of legislation expires in early 2010 and is not currently scheduled to be renewed.

No worries mate.

One other thing to think about though is who you would actually use to do the service - although Rentech are presumably reasonably local to you. Also, depending on who you do use, not having full renault service history may affect the value of the car when you come to sell it.

Was thinking about rentech, but was also thinking about the fact it would not be a full Renault history. Might just bite the bullet and take it to Renault as it does look better i guess. Just fancied someone who knows about cars doing the service :D

Personally if it was a well known Independent who had done the servicing on the car then I would trust it more than a Renault history.

IIRC the price of the first service is pretty small, so best ring up for a price and compare it to an independent using genuine parts

I agree - I would, you would - but Joe Public/renault dealer, with little interest in these sort of cars, may not!

Being in Hampshire, id take it to Wokingham motors mate. Ive used a few of the big names on here, but have gone back to Wokingham motors. Know their stuff, reasonable prices and really really good service :) plus its a proper renault dealership so you're covered in that sense.

If you need anymore info pm me.
