Severe Knocking Noise.

  Clio 1.6 16v Dynamique +
My Husband has a 2 ltr Megane Coupe and has just fitted a Coilover kit to the front of it. He now seems to have developed a very loud knocking noise on the near side even when driving very slowly in a straight line. As a passenger it actualy feels like the car has square wheels. I know that may sound odd but it is the best way I can find to describe how it feels. The noise is exteremely loud and appears to be at very regular intervals.

I was wondering whether the drive shaft may somehow have got damaged or maybe the CV joint. I would be extremely greatful for any ideas as to what this could be.

Thanks.

He has checked the wheel nuts, had the wheel off twice. It is begining to look like either a CV joint or the driveshaft.

Thanks for that.

My Husband fitted them. He thinks he may have dislodged the driveshaft and it may just need reseating. ~Fingers crossed~.

Well it went to the garage this afternoon, it's not the ball joint and not the drive shaft, garage reckons its more likely the Coilovers themselves.
