Shaking at speed

Hi all. I have a 1.4 16v Clio hatchback 2003. The car runs fine. However, when i hit high speeds, there is a shaking in the car that's intermittent. It gets bad, then almost vanishes, then comes back again. This happens if I hit 80mph onwards. The faster i go, the harder the shake. Also.... if I brake, there is shuddering. It doesn't feel like it's coming through the steering. I just recently had all the brake pads replaced. Could this be related to the absorbers?

Get a mechanic to check the car, maybe the guy who fitted the pads?

Mine used to shake when I hit 80mph, it was the wheel alignment. Had it fixed for £30
