Shite Quality Camera Phone Pics - HELP

  Not a Clio
I've got a Samsung U600 with a 3.2 Mega Pixel camera.

Just been out and took a few pics, but in the majority of them the grass / vegetation is incredibly washy.

What have I done wrong / what setting needs changing?

Here's an example - click to enlarge.

This one seems fine and I changed nothing:

Its the light conditions that make the photo like that.

Just looked through and it's set to automatic but there are options for cloudy etc.

Problem is, when all you've got is a tiny camera screen to check your pic, they always look ok no matter how s**t they are until you get home.

ISO makes the sensor more sensitive to light but also reduces quality, you want to use 100 or less on a camera phone.

Your phone won't have optical zoom (I doubt) so when you 'zoom' its just the camera cropping the original image so reducing quality...

Think of it as how sensitive the camera (sensor) is to light.

Higher ISO can result in more noise though so be careful!

EDIT - Beaten to it^^

You'll never get amazing quality from a camera phone. End of.

I have a 3MP cameraphone and just use it for fun shots, out clubbing etc.

Only time you'll get half decent results is in very bright weather.

I have a 6MP Nikon Coolpix and although that is much much better you still need a decent amount of light for best results. I've been taking it to gigs to try and figure out the best settings for low-light situations, with mixed results :)

I have got a proper digital camera that takes great shots but it's a good few years old now and too bulky to fit in my pocket. It's a Fuji FinePix A204

Chris is right unless Samsung have changed it in their latest handsets. There should be a resolution AND a quality option, with superfine, fine etc.
As said above; don't expect too much from phone cameras, especially samsung ones.

Definitely no quality option on this one.
