Shock on its way out???

My Cup has developed a sort of banging/clunking noise when i go over speedbumps/pot holes.

I only notice it on the passengers side... does this mean that the shock is fubar'd?

I'm guessing I'd have to replace both drives and passnegers side if it is... expesnive job???

Doesn't sound anything similar to mine mate. Mine sounds like there is something heavy in the boot and when I go over the bump the object gets a bit of air and comes back down pretty hard. Thats the best way I can describe the noise.

I've taken everything out of the boot to ensure it wasn't my spare wheel making the noise ... and also gone over bumps on the drivers side and it makes nowhere near as much of a din

have a look at your rear exhaust bracket before you right off the rear shocks

I'm going to drop in to my local Renault garage tomoz and get them to have a gander.

They are 20s drive from my house which is useful.

youve run over a pedestrian m8, sorry couldnt resist always hard to diag noises without hearing it/seeing the car

I'll let u know if i find out what it is tomorrow. Thing is my car doesn't feel unstable and it doesn't "bounce" so I'm well puzzled!

if the shocks are leaking there fooked just changed mine at 26k
ive done 3k in 2 months yikes

My car feels fine too.. just doesn't sound too good when i go over a bump. But then it only started 2 days ago, still time for it to get worse i suppose.. as more fluid leaks out? (assuming it is the shock lol)

or it could be that i've only got one wheel nut holding the back wheel on..

i get a massive clunking noise when i go up kerbs like for dropping people off and stuff, even when i go dead slow, kadonk lol
