I take t when you compress a shock and it doesn't return its pretty much bucked?

New ones from Renault aren't expensive and they're pretty simple to fit.

Will only return if its a gas shock, normal oil filled only will not return, and the most resistance should be on the return stroke, afaik

Hmm, conflicting thoughts here.......... :S

Yeah, whole front suspension is stripped out trying to find a knock.

In doing so found shocks that didn't return but if they ain't broke I can't afford to replace them.

Ok, so in another thread....here...some one has used clips to hold the shocks compressed.

Should this not be the case with my brand new Renault items or is it because they are cup pack dampers? Are they gas and the standard 172 ones oil?

Front shocks don't push back up iirc?
