how do i get good pictures as the flash on my camera is pretty naf, it comes out well somethimes but im no camera genius

Tripod - essential.

And what are you trying to take photos of?

taking photos of my car, i am going to get a tripod, only got a crappy 7mp fujifilm camera, nothing special

It's probably got a 'fireworks' type mode. Use that. And get a tripod.

I'm guessing the OP has a generic digital camera ? If he's lucky, it's a bridge like my old Fuji (S5800?) and you can change the settings in manual mode, but I never got my head round how to do it.

Much better on a DSLR, but depends how into it you want to get.

Buying a DSLR can lead to bankruptcy.

yea just a genetric camera, in manual you can change the shutter speed not sure what else will have a fiddle but defo get a tripod and save for a slr
