must admit the blue is nice, tbh, all the colours arent bad, bar lunar and acid!

Hey Justin,

Firstly your picking a VERY good time to buy because the market is slow & people will have to drop prices to sell-

The good thing with the V6 is that you now there are 2 versions you have a spread of value to suit your spend-
Have a browse around the Cliov6.net Wiki to give you the pro's & cons of what model to buy-- However Ive picked out a couple on Pistonheads that I would consider depending on wallet size-

( heres a full list of registrations from new)
http://www.renaultsport.co.uk/roadcars/heritage/cliov6/data.asp

First of all top of the top the more rare Paint iD colours- An additional £1200 on original retail value from the stealers-

http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/311578.htm

Liquid Yellow, Slightly overpriced at 24K, but certainly good for 22k in the Summer for the Minter- The only other ones that will retain this value are the the Moonlight, bronze model & Inferno-
Price Range- 19-22k

Second up, the 'slightly more common colours- if thats such a thing for a vee-
Ive picked out 2 gooden after a browse-
http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/315468.htm ( Colins & in the for sale section- You know your getting a good car here-

http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/308923.htm

http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/271933.htm --- I think this one would be secured for 15.5k- ideal value-

All good value-- Not over priced at a difficult time of year to sell-

For models Black, titanium, Acid, Mars red I would go for a price range of 16k-18.5k Tops ( For a Rare acid or total minter)

If Illiad blue floats your boat then you have an opportunity to pick out a slightly cheaper one- this is purely because of the volume made nothing else ( 191 ) -
Speaking to dealers though the Illiad blue is the most difficult to shift ( As well as Lunar) - Prices on these are quite inconsistent, but you do a have a bit of leverage-
there are no ones on Pistonheads currently that are worth the value they are advertised at-
One was sold on here recently for just under 15k- which was in good nik-

Price range 14k-16.5 k

After which, for w MK 2 the rest are either no worth looking at OR are a CAT D- maybe worth a look if your happy to take on a car that would be difficult to move in when you come to sell it...

http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/292380.htm - CAT D- over priced though IMHO-

Post this your into Mk 1 territory, Ideally the Cambelt needs to have been done & the front end will have needed to have been cleaned up-
Theres not a lot on PH at the moment-- .
http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/230605.htm

Overpriced by about a grand though-
Price range for a Mk1- 9k up to 11.5 for a one owner low mileage example...

Hope this helps-- PM me if you need any other info-

Steve - awesome post cheers.. As you say its a buyers market just now, but i would first need to sell the VX and now really isnt the time!

not sure what the budget would be as i could either sell the VX/Dci and have up to £17/18 or keep the Dci. Hmm..

thanks again though!

I disagree on the above build quality point. Aside from the MPG, the V6 isn't bad to run - and seem to be much better put together than all the lower model Clios of the same era. They seem to be pretty reliable as well - from my own experiences and residing on V6Clio.net.

I would say no. There are faster, more special cars out there for the money.

I'll agree there is probably 100 cars out there that are faster, but what would you class as special for about 15K that the average Mk2 is worth? Not being funny or anything I'm just after a different view? :)

Find a V6 owner who parted with their money to own a 'Fast car'

There isnt one----

I dunno what it is--- They just appeal to everyone ............. & they are great laugh to drive--- ( Except in the snow...)

I'm not just talking Audi. I really don't get the V6 obsession.

Because you're a crout!

if you don't immediately love them, you will learn to appreciate them but never understand what there truely about!

The vee is unreal, the experience is unlike anything, i was driving though abd y'day and parked beside a noble, and more people were lookin at the Vee!!! What does that tell you!

You bought the car because you are a poser??????

I bought one for the same kind of reason - rarity.
The novelty of random folk approaching you or your car soon wears off however, I think that's why a lot of Vee's have a lot of previous owners - the novelty factor is second to none, but it soon wears thin.

ha! Yeh, defo a poser!

But i love the attention it draws, even if it is filth at the mo. Not got bored of that yet, people coming up at petrol stations, ferrari owners waving...And it's a Clio!

Took a mate out last nite, and he was in love with the noise!! It's what makes the car!

here's a question, name a car for under £100K that is as rare as a clio V6? (i'm struggling for ideas!)

Cosworths
Ferrari 360? (There about £75k ish i thought?)
A standard Nova
E30 M3
Ariel Atom
Triple decker buses

ferrari 360 is about as common as a 172! cosworths i don't think are that rare unless some ford geek on here knows any facts or figures?

rare as in there's only 350 (or less) brought into the country to start with

scoob 22B (uk) is one

7,145 Escort Cosworths over 4 years. I'm not a ford geek and there is a chance it is not true because Wikipedia told.
