just seen a 1.6 16v for sale, its the top one in the following link...

seens like a nice car, havent talked money with the bloke, but what should i expect him to offer for my car, 2004 04 1.2 16v dynamique, 3 door black, bit of body damage, nothing extreme, done 24.5k miles, full history etc.

any opinions?

are the 1.6's much better than the 1.2's?

Can't you afford the 172 or 182 mate? The 1.6 is much better than the 1.2's IMO. My mate's mk2 ph1 RSi 1.6 is el rapido!!

Because my V reg Corsa 1.6 Sport I had recently before the LCR, killed 4 in it's 6 months of ownership, though I kept it running sweet and spent what it was worth on it again lol.

Get a 172 to be sure and not sorry!!

the RSi's are nippier than the later ph2 1.6(dynamique's etc) imo

cheaper too, think it's insurance group 9, I almost bought one when looking for a cheap 1.6 but in the end got the Corsa

Insurance on a 172 at 18 is f**king lunacy. It'll be £2.5k at the cheapest, unless you've got money to burn then theres no chance but surprise surprise everyone just says "get a 172 etc" seemingly forgetting that these things need to be payed for.

Deffo go for the 1.6, its a FAR better engine than the 1.2 and the extra power/torque will be welcomed believe me.

1. must have lower claims maybe as the owners can afford a more expensive /powerful car so take more care who knows.

it is bad, that means he thinks the car has dropped £3k in a year over the renault forecourt price.

his price on the 1.6 is good anyway so he said he wouldnt drop it so looks like its not going ahead to be honest.

parkers says my car is worth £4200 p/x price, might ring him tomorrow and see if he can do anything to the price.

He won't do a straight swap (I don't belive that any dealer ever would) unless they knew tnat what they were getting in p/x was worth more than what they have.

I think you'd need to consider giving a few hundred quid on top tbh.

its a good deal for him in my eyes, hes already making money on the 1.6, getting a more popular car in the best colour, low miles, full history, a year newer which he can make a good £500 on.

its an easy sale for him aswell i think, plenty of people want a clio.

Im also considering the step up from 1.2 16v to 1.6 16v.....dont sell your car for £3400...thats just crazy!i paid that for my 02 reg with 55k in january!

yes mate, steering is so much better, suspension felt nice and stiffer, lots more torque, and 0-60 felt very fast compared to mine!

i got to go out on my own in it so could really give it some hammer, definately a good car!
