Should I Switch To O2 ???

  Skoda Fabia vRS
currently im with Orange and im more than happy with the service they give

ive been with O2 in the past and they cocked a few things up and anytime you had a problem you had to call some call centre in India which made it very difficult to get a problem solved

do O2 still have this foreign call centre for online packages, if so thats enough for me to wait

the thing is i want the K850i and ive already waited past my upgrade date for it to come out, ive called them and just been told it could be another few months before Orange have it, its available now from O2

the tariff is also better on O2 but i wouldnt have a problem getting Orange to match it ive been a customer for years and ive never paid for an upgrade

not sure what to do, its the customer service that bothers me, in the past O2 were garbage, Orange are brilliant, every call i have made has been dealt with by a UK call centre from someone who can understand me

I'm on orange too mate, really cant fault them at all...i always get coverage, replacement phones and their customer service is bang on, i'm on dolphin, unlimited text (fair usage of 3000 month) and 600 anytime/network mins for £35 a month which is perfect for me.

My gf is on 02 and seems to get nothing but hassle with them, they make an arse of bill's, charged her once for same network calls by mistake too, told her one month her bill was £220 odd quid when it really should've been £40..

My mate worked in technical support for them and he even said the company as a whole dont have a clue, they fall down nearly everywhere that Orange Vodafone and T-Mobile excel.

My 2p's worth anyway.

i dont think they have foreign call centres anymore, i've never spoken to anyone in one! mostly scottish! lol

o2 aren't as bad as they used to be imho, but they do mess things up but are always happy to rectify it!

iv never spoken to anyone foreign with O2 before.

im happy with them. fact they include MMS in your free texts is good too. no extra charges for sending them.

your potentialy gonna have issues with any network really. I was on orange for 2 week, had nothing but problems with them cos they cocked it up for me. It was a complete nightmare! one problem after another!

hmmmm i might ring up O2 and ask a few questions, but not sure how asking about foreign call centres would go down

wouldnt worry mate, one of main things nowdays with choosing a service provider of any kind if you ask me is that you can speak to someone who you understand and that understands you back.

I'm in EXACTLY the same situation; I've been with Orange for many years and I've always been really happy with them. Their customer service is excellent and they've not made any mistakes with my account. I had one year 'out' when I went to Vodafone and they were shocking. Hated their answerphone service, they cocked up my bill every single month and their customer service was crap.

I'm a bit wary about going to O2 because I don't know anything about them. I've just spoken to O2 and they've offered me 400 minutes and 1000 texts for £30 for 18 months. Didn't really want an 18-month contract, but it's the only way to get it free.

Orange will offer the same but with 500 mins and unlimited texts (3k) - but they have no idea when they're getting the phone!

I don't need more than 1k texts anyway, I won't even use that many.

Hmmmm dilemma..I can order it right now on O2...

I dont think o2 have any overseas call centre's anymore, when i phone up i normally get a yorkie or someone from scottland... o2 have good deals, but regularly f**k my bill up, and trying to sort it is a right pain in the arse... Also if you phone them up more than once, you seem to get a different answer to a question each time...

Im with orange an dget 600 mins and unlimited texts for £26 a month! after bartering with customer services for a while

I find o2 to be pretty good, i've been with them for about four years now, they are way better than T mobile who I was with before.

I'm not a fan of 18 month contracts tbh, but o2 seem to want to push them at the min.
Mines up in a couple of weeks, so i'll be on the phone haggling for a deal. Currently I get the £40 a month tariff for £20 a month, I think it's something like 400 mins & 500 texts, that's on a 12 month contract.

They've always been helpful to me whenever i've had to call them.

OK I've ordered it on O2, I have 14 days to change my mind..it'll arrive on Tuesday.

I don't reaaaaally want to leave Orange though, I like them.

Dont be so impatient, Ali! lol

Id stick with Orange, theyre great for me! I have to wait 18months for a new phone, but thats a small price to pay for the deal ive got and how much it saves me on my old o2 contract!

Ive got another 6 months til I can upgrade!! :(

I can't help it, when I want something I want it NOW!! The deal Orange offered me wasn't *that* much better.

Anyway I'll get to see what the phone's like and I don't have to leave Orange yet, I still need a PAC code.

I might send it back and (attempt to) be patient..

RB, just call them up & ask for it - they have to give it to you, when they ask why you want it just tell them that you can get better elsewhere, they may try & keep you with them.

Been with O2 for years never had any major issues. Currently pay £30 a month on a one month rolling contract for 600 x-net anytime minutes and 1000 texts :approve:

Can't complain!

  Better than yours. C*nt.
Detest O2 - I wouldn't wish them on anyone. But then I know people who refer to T-Mobile as 'a network problem' - but I've never had a problem, and when my 3rd Vario II started doing the same as the last two they let me choose the W880i (which was new out that week) to replace it. Their data network is fantastic - I'm consistently getting better coverage and speeds than our Vodafone contracts at work and they always seem ready to help me with any issues I get with hardware compatibility and drivers.

Orange don't have it yet, and don't know when they're going to get them in. It's my impatience which is the problem ;)

^Probably cos their too busy trying to make their shite software for it. Dunno why they cant just leave it standard like the phone was designed for. Only thing that puts me off orange.

I still can't decide whether to change to O2 or not *sigh*

Some people at work say they're great, others think I should stay with Orange.

o2 opened a new call centre here in Glasgow last year, most of my calls to CS are usually handled there. I don't phone often and not really had many problems over the past 4/5 years.

every time ive phoned o2 they've been great, always english people. Been with them for 5 years now.

In fact, ive just got off the phone to them... upgraded my phone and contract at the same time. £30 a month, 1000txts, 400mins, unlimited o2 to o2 calls, free K850i. Kept my number, transferred the insurance and got free international roaming.

K850i will be with me in 2 days apparently :)

Nice to know that when I upgrade I can demand a better contract.

I think O2 have invested in there network recently.

A couple of years ago my mate was raking in 10k on overtime alone fixing their old servers!

Same as I would get..although my k850i was meant to be here today and it isn't..

No-one pays for international roaming, do they?

no idea, its just in the list of free stuff she read out to me.... including MMS messages and voicemail :)

tbh im not really interested in the new phone, im more than happy with my W810i... i only upgraded because i could and there was a better contract out there to be had.
