Show me your Harnesses!

Come on, post up photos of your harnesses.

I'm especially interested in how you have mounted them.

that's a nice start, cool harnesses.

Which holes are you using at the back? How do you know they will hold? Is the angle ok?

What about the lap straps, are they mounted to the seat subframe? Closeup photos of the mounting eyes would be awesome!

I have a set of harnesses arriving shortly, but can't decide where best to mount them.

No pics of the mountings as I'm at work, but it's essesntially the same as above, but not crossed over. A roll cage is on the way with a harness bar to improve the angle from the seat. If it hasn't been done by this evening by someone else I'll sort some closer shots and go into more detail.

Mark Fish fitted my harnesses and bolted/welded in the eyelets.

I'll see if i've got any close ups and post 'em up

I got mine from Ebay about 3 years ago, paid about £200 i think. The FIA has expired now but still perfectly good!

Awesome belts really, i had the same as R2TR (above) before these, and IMO not a patch on these

Right, on mine all holes bar two were already available to use after removing the interior trim.

The holes in the pic below were where the (I think) pre-tensioners were mounted and were the right thread for the eyelets.

These two handy threaded holes were also ready for use...

Only hole that needed to be made and a plate put under it was on the door side of the seats...

Great post inferno, very useful. Looks like the rear holes are from the rear seat belts, so they should be just fine. On the door side I'm using the oe seat belt guide hole - any reason you didn't use this?

The two holes on the other side of the seat look like a great find - the eyelets just thread right in? are you confident they'll hold? The seatbelt pretensioners were mounted to the seat frames weren't they?

The door side mounts were done by Mark Fish, unfotunately I didn't ask him why.

If it wasn't the pretensioners mounted either side of the hand brake it must have been the seat belt clips themselves? It's been way too long for me to remember now! But, yes - all of the eyelets threaded straight in. I couldn't say if that'll be the same for any other brand though.

I'm confident it'll all hold, but I try to stay slim to be on the safe side ;)

Just worked it out - those holes are for the OE seat rails, Mark must have used the harness eyelets instead of the standard bolts. These bolt right through the floor and get secured by a nut underneath, should be pretty strong.

What sort of seat subframes do you have Inferno?

I had no interest in being able to move the seat once it was in place and I wanted to sit low down. My subframes are two pieces of alloy box section. Not everyone's cup of tea!

Well done for working out where the holes came from!
