Show Us Your Shunt!

Car  RB 182 Cup,E46 M3 CS
Just a thought, I saw the 'show us your first car' thread yesterday for the first time and it reminded me of a forum back on the old escortevolution website purely for posting threads with pictures of your crashed car. The pictures ranged from the boring scraped bumpers or dented doors to proper 'how the fk did you survive that' unidentifiable wrecks. I appreciate that this might bring up bad memories for some but equally if you did a proper job it is your duty to show us!

Sadly, I don't really have much to contribute to this thread despite some epic drives in my teen years. I did have a small bump one month in to learning when someone jumped a red light and hit me but it was so minor it pretty much isn't worth the digging to find the photos. However, I have found some pictures of the first crash I was involved in so I don't post this thread without anything worth looking at. I agreed to pay someone a quid to get me from Uni campus back into High Wycombe, he didn't even get us half way. Whilst distracted he drove straight into the back of a Picasso at about 30mph. I never got my money back.

Only really got one.. got wiped out by a taxi, bugger all I could do about it. Fortunately Clios seem to be a lot stronger in crashes than Corsa C's, Fiestas etc.

Worst crash I've seen on here that someone survived was this;

Got rear ended by a flat bed lorry in Cornwall. Still managed to drive it back to Worcester but yea it was a right off and it gutted me!

It happened a few years ago and has been repaired though insurance! #becausetrophysarethebestclios

Nooo! I knew posting this thread would hurt, glad it was repaired but gutted to see a Trophy taking a hit.

Went into the back of someone in my saxo but can’t find pictures but this happened to it.

until some bellend in a punto pulled out across a dual carriageway and then stopped, blocking both lanes. According to the copper, my skid marks were 88ft long :weary:

The car wasn't much to look at, but the damage to the wall etc was pretty significant

And driving like a bellend.
Exactly the opposite, I was over cautious in that car as it definitely had something wrong with it. I had it 6 months and nearly lost the back end a few times.
Had the 172 for 7 years before that & didn't have any issues at all.

Greasy cambered road and too much right foot gave me this meeting with a lamppost. Watching it fall over 10 minutes later is still the worst moment of my life.

My old Clio. Came round a long bend to find the Nissan on my side of the road - she was peeling off down the road to the right. Bricks were shat. We’d have missed each other if she’d have carried on but she swerved back to her side of the road - as did I to avoid her. A stump in the hedge stopped me rolling into the field!

Oh yeah and the landlord at my local is a volunteer for the crew that cut her roof off. He bought me a pint as they go tot use the jaws of death or whatever their cutters are called 😂

This wrote my lupo off last month hahahahahaha. Guy who crashed into me didn't want to pay me for a new bumper so called his insurance company and admitted liability. I got a £700 payout and bought the car back for £40. It was a fair old shunt though, enough to snap the exhaust off the car. Rusty trusty lupo lives on though.

at least you didn't sit in his car causing the emergency services to cut his roof off, as they like to do...

Working for the emergency services I can confirm this is correct, however I’ve personally only cut off 3 roofs this year, feel like I’m slacking.

Did she take up road position about 2 miles before the turning or something?

It doesn't seem like a hard junction to take?

I was in the BMW doing some pretty epic drifting into a lamp post, then on the way to the hospital the ambulance I was in had a head on collision with the bell end in the golf overtaking on a blind corner.

f**k look at the state of the ambulance though, got proper bent up. Looks like the drivers legs were trapped??

Whats it like being strapped into a stretcher and then being crashed?

I hope all involved survived? Golf must have been going some..

*edited due DrR's post below

Golf driver died on scene, ambulance driver will never work again, I wasn’t actually on the stretcher as I had no injuries before going in the ambulance, GF was on the stretcher.

But I can out with broken arm and fucked knee.

Look at the rear wheels on the ambulance, the shunt broke the rear axle.
