Side strips and bullets

when replacing my mk1 172 side strips for ones with bullets, will i need to replace the rear half of the strip also (the bit on the rear quarter) or can i get away with only getting the front half of the strip and the bullets?

Should be ok to get away with it, the door seperates the strips mate
