My front badge is going black tomorrow if I can work out how to get the thing off without snapping anything. I'll send you some pictures if you want to see them when its done.

It depends if you want matching colours or contrasting colours. Either, if done right, look good I'm sure. Although if I come on tomorrow requesting a new Renault badge from somewhere, it looks bad :D.

Looking good Haz :D. Doing the badge in Rover Stone Grey should tie the colours together, will look great.

matt black badges on a silver car would look good in my view. if you had black alloys with the silver rim.

Haz511, what is that on your bonnet? the black cover thing. i see them everywhere, but dont know what they do?

It's real with 1.2 badges. Or so he told me when I bought something off him last week...do we believe him?:rasp:

Would you believe it took me almost an entire day to spray a badge! :D

I'm usually alright when it comes to paint, but I must have painted and sanded this about 7 times before I got it right. Looks quite good though, makes a change I suppose.

Lovely looking motor len. Think he means the front badge though, not the sides. Is that a replica?
Thanking you good sir. Do you think it's real or a rep'? ;)

Your black badge looks good. I've just done mine. How did you remove the diamond and the base?

I put a flathead screwdriver inside of a cloth and prized the bottom of the badge, which pops out. Then there are two clips in the middle of the badge on either side that I just pulled on.
It feels dodgy as hell at first, I thought I was going to break something, but it does just pop out.

I didnt remove the base, and I'm not sure how you would do that; but I guess its part of the grill.

Could we have some more pics with black badges please.

Do you think you could do good looking black (or other colour) badges by painting the originals with hammerite smooth?!

a better finish would be to key the surface with sandpaper (800 grit) then spray primer (3 coats) then paint (3 coats) then laquer. leave 20 mins between coats and 24 hours between primer and paint, then paint and laquer
