Sim not worky help - iPhone 4s/5c

My pops was given an iPhone 5c. He currently has a 4s.

I chopped the micro sim down to nano size so it would fit the 5c.
He was told it was unlocked but we've been getting the 'Sim not supported' error.

I just remembered I fired my mums nano sim in last night and it worked no problem so now I think I've locked it to o2. My dads on BT mobile.

I've tried restoring it with iTunes but the error persists. What's my next step? I can't see anywhere I can check if it's locked or not and o2 tell me they can't confirm.

Any help would be great, thanks

That would say to me it's not unlocked mate unfortunately

The only services I know off that tell you network you have to pay for

If you download a program called iTools you can get a trial and that might tell you the network worth a shot

Yeah just get the trial mate once the phone is plugged in will tell you a load of info
