When did renault start making the Mk2 Ph2 172??

I've seen one on a Y plate (2001) but I didn't think they started to make them untill 2002?

it's on the cards mate...I've seen a y reg ph2 172 with 57k on the clock for £4990, I'm pretty sure it's had the cam belt done already...going to check it out saturday haha!

they made them on Y plates yes... just like some of the late Ph1's were registered on a 51 plate.

have you checked the link? how can tell if it's a 172 or a 172 ff?? or if it's an import or not? I know diddly squat about the mk2's haha!

That looks like a FF...leather/alcan, air etc.

To tell if its an import you have to check to see if it has the factory fitted alarm etc...usually have to look for the little led by the gearstick..or so i hear.

No no, if it has an led then its a UK car. The imports don't have alarms i think.

haha me to mate....the valver feels a lot more involving to drive but it's getting a bit old now and the noise pollutingness is getting a tad annoying, want something standard again that I can do a few subtle changes to make it my own then I'm done!

Yeah good plan....so some green neons on the underside and a lairy exhaust with cams and we can call it the Rhino172!

thinking carbon splitter, throphy esque wheels, possible carbon bonnet at some point, not forgetting the all important silvervisions and that will do...see how I go, maybe drop it a tad a get a prospeed but it's money dependent and will take me a year or so to do it all...thats if I even go for it that is!

Yeah you'll go for it mate....that car is pretty much a minter and thats really good money for it as well. Good that the cambelt has been done as well. No worries about any big work needing to be done!

With that colour i'd say Cup-esque wheels mate....

Just put a set of Silvervisions in mine yesterday....Lee will be pleased. Fried egg no more!

Yeah so i've noticed....actually haven't heard much from quite a few people recently, but Lee is slacking. And with him having one of the rarest Clio's around you'd think he wanna turn up and show off a bit!

well that was a big let down...

went to see the car....looks great from a distance but thats about it...

about 6 patches or ruined paint where the previous owner didn't clean off the bird s**t...

dent in the bonnet..

dent in the roof..

BIG crease down the passenger side rear quater..

headlight washer squirty bits on the bumper feel off when I grabbed them..

and it looked like the drivers door didn't line up properly with the roof....


on a different note...

do 172's have sunroofs??!?! I thought it was only the cups that didn't have a sunroof?

Nope no sunroofs for the UK cars foreign mods could have ones I think.

Might be a reshelled car or roof stupid not using the right roof though.
