For a little while now I have been trying to find the source of an annoying rattle (sounds like something is loose & metallic). This occurs over bumps in the road, when pulling away & if the engine is laboured. I can't hear anything by just revving the engine.
To try and get to the bottom of this I have changed:
•Upper Engine Mount
•Upper Gearbox Mount
•Powerflex'd the Dogbone
•Replaced the Manifold to Cat kit as it was a bit rusty.
If anything, the rattle has got more noticeable when pulling away which I guess is due to the increased vibration from the dogbone. Whilst looking at the usual suspects in the engine bay I noticed the slam panel can make a rattle noise if wobbled around the centre latch. From memory, this rattle started around the same time the belts were done, which I guess also means the slam panel would have been removed / bent out of the way.
I've uploaded a short video to youtube, could anyone confirm if their car does the same or whether this could be the likely culprit?
