Slammage Question :D

  Megane 225 Cup
Guys & Gals

Im ordering some lowering springs this weekend from K-tec… :D
Just thinking tho.. 30, 35 or 60mm????

I cant decide!!

I want it to look good and handle better - but then I don’t want to have to worry about speed bumps.. And I only have 15's

Please help :)

Ta…

Ohhh. And can anyone say what it cost to get theirs fitted.. This ones defo a garage job.

40mm? that's what i'd do. 60mm is too much with just springs, the rest too little.

Where on earth can you get 40mm....??? they dont sell it at k-tec..

I knows its not the be all and end all but..

go for it 60mm then upgrade shocks at a later date. 60mm looks sexy :D

60mm on standard shocks? Come on, that's just stupid!!

Even if it handles ok they will f*ck up..they arn't built to be that low

mines 60mm on standard shocks, has been for about 3months. but ive got some koni specials on order atm so im correcting the error of my ways :) :p

  Corsa Van. Meh.
I ran my old turbo on -60mm springs and standard shocks for over a year with no problems at all :D

Luck of the draw, more often than not though one day your struts WILL piss oil. Trouble is on -60mm springs the struts are under contant compression, and thats before you drive it hard. The seals fail, and the struts will die.

i have 60mm springs from the 1.2 on 172 shocks now with my 2.0 the front end is way low handles well good but gonna upgrade to coilovers in the future

Id say 40mm apex on standard shocks, or spend alittle more and get the 60mm apex kit.

Craig

'A little more' is a bit of an understatement, lol. ;) more than 3 times as much as just springs, £80 springs. £255 kit.

hence my decision for springs only. If I was going to go any lower than 40 I'd go for Coilies.

im eventually upgrading my shocks within the next few weeks, theyve only cost £130. and i bought the springs off the for sale section for £50, so id say ive lowered my car on the cheap really :)
