are they just standard brakes u put on there then or uprated ones

im thinking about puttin 16v discs and calipers on mine, are the 16v discs bigger then standard 1.2 clio (MK1 clio n 16v)

yes mate, i believe they are bigger discs, mine is currently running standard brakes.... new discs and uprated pads but it stop so much smoother and better, they were spongy at first, still are a bit now but will need burning in after a good few hundred miles.

im thinking about getting 16v brakes, but they wont fit under the 13's hehe

yeah 16v spoiler would be good...
but waste of ££ getting the brakes

Not true!

Lucas or Bendix, all the std mark1 non-16v calipers are rubbish, even for normal road use.

Get some 16v brakes, or RSI/GTT if you're keeping the 13s.

Depends how you drive i suppose but track/fast road use was mentioned and its generally agreed that calipers running non-vented disc are poor.

Certainly my old RT didn't stop well with a bendix setup and my phase 3 1.2 is poor with a lucas setup...neither a patch on the 16v i had.

On the rear - Did you upgrade the shock or just wind the stock shock down 60mm?

Im going to lower mine and I have seen you can get the 2 front springs for ~£45, but Ive been told that the stock rear shocks are to soft to lower?
