Slight oversteer worry.

Last friday i actually managed to get the 1.2 into a bit of oversteer. Normally the steering is quite feelsome and i can tell whats going to happen, however i had a bit of a frightening moment as i felt like my steering wheel was connected to thin air. I kept my foot planted and was ok but was wondering if any owners had the same problem? Is this the electric steering or whatever its suppposed to be? Hows it work?

oversteer is when you loose the backend, it shouldnt cause the steering to feel like thin air though

Power steering in its very nature nullifies the feedback from the car, its is unfortunate in most cases, but I prefer it in the long run for parking etc..

i have only had 2 bad cases of over steer and they were both in my primera once i ended up sitting backward on a pavement and the other sitting the wrong way on a roundabout lol

lol

I generally dont believe power steering takes that much away from a good handling car anyway. However the crappy steering on mine does ruin it a bit though my cars hardly a performance car so maybe i shouldnt moan.

well, I lost the back end of my 172 going at about 20 mph round a corner in the wet.. bloody cobbles, I did however instinctivly counter steer it and bring it back into shape.

2nd time I lost the back end I did it on purpose... well actually I just decided to go into a 90 degree corner really fast and see what happens.. the car actually drifted lol.. all 4 wheels where sliding sideways.. great fun..
