slight squeeking noise

Car  Honda & VW
I noticed today when i had the bonnet up with the engine running that i'm getting a very faint squeeking noise coming from under the battery to the right of the engine. Sounds like a belt squeeking as it's going round.

Not really noticed it much before now so i assume as the bonnet was up it was unleashed.

Excuse my ignorance but what belt is that side?

noisy clutch release bearing, get a mate to put his foot on the clucth pedal when ur under the bonnet, if the noise goes then its the release bearing.

The water pump is down the other end! :)

There is an engine mount underneath the battery and I have heard of other people having problems with it coming lose. If you can't work out what the noise is then perhaps take out your battery and check it's all tight underneath.

Well i have just bought new mounts so shall i just change them first to see?

Just to end this thread, it looks like it was down to a lose or dodgy engine mount as since i had my new Group N mounts fitted yesterday the squeek has ceased to be heard.

looks like replacing the clutch for me as the noise seems to disappear when i press the clutch down. any idea how much it's gonna cost me. only had the car 2 days. someone always sells their car for a reason you just got to find out what it is.

No idea how much labour it'd take to fit but this gives you an idea of price for the clutch alone...

Clutch

I think i paid something like £400 to have a clutch fitted in Integra.
