Hi all what size fan is big enough to cool the carband do i need to get a sucking type or blowing type

All depends which side your fitting.

If replacing you want a sucking fan. 9 or 12" should do it.

I had to fit a 14" fan on my turbo motor as the 12" wouldn't cut it.

I would fit as big as you can fit and a 14" fitted even around all the intercooler pipework.

Really? I used 10" with a tiny polo 1.4 radiator on my supercharged one and temps were actually low, the fan only cut in a couple of times when it was sat running,

Yeah, during mapping on a hot day the fan ran all the time and we also had to have the heater matrix up full with the fan on max.

As mine was a track car I wasn't taking any chanced as the original is 16" so why go too small and expect an improvement?
