Sloppy gear box twhen cold

had abit of resistence when trying to select acouple of gears this morning, but was fine after i ran it for abit. any ideas?? just normal or is it time for a gear box oil change???

Sounds like a change might be a good idea.

Make sure you have the right grade oil though, or you might be worse off than before.

The box on my 172 was a bit crap when cold. To be honest they're not a great box any time but until the oil has warmed up they arn't the most pleasant of boxes to use.

I've had a reconed box from Renault, felt crap in my old 172, my 182 with just 11k felt crap, feel just as crap now it's on 40k to. All notchy and shite when cold, especially when changing to second and 5th.

ok, i think its normal, just seemed worse this morning, whats the best oil to use and what grade?? meny thanks

I use what it says in the manual.
