Slow Punctures

Hey guys and gals,
I put on my spare tyre a few days ago and it looks brand new so a load of tread but I pumped it up and a day later went from 34psi down to 15, pumped it back up and the next day It was pulling to the right loads, so i knew it was flat but there was no places to pump it up, so had to wait till i was home so I could use the one in my house it was 5psi, no jokes bricks were shat. :(

Anyone know any products to stop slow punctures cos this tyre has either all or 90% of tread left and I cba to waste it

Thankssss

You will need to take it to a garage, they will probably take it off the rim and check for where its leaking. Might not be repairable.

Thanks guys, my next day off is friday and I've looked and most of the garages by me are closed :(
and ive sprayed water/washing up liquid over the valve and no bubbles, bit confused
and no Ca$h for a new tyre this close to xmas haha

I had similar issues. Only really an issue in cold weather too, pressure would drop 15-20 PSI in a few days.

When the tyres were eventually replaced the guy asked if I'd been having problems with losing air pressure regularly - turns out the inside of the rim where the tyre bead sits had corroded; the corrosion mean't that the trye didn't sit flush and so air could slowly leak through. He spent a few mins with a wire brush going around the rims, replaced the tyres and hey presto no more issues.

It'd be worth dropping into a tyre fitter on your way home (or asking a mobile fitter to come to your workplace when you're on a break - theyre not expensive).

I had a nightmare with a slow puncture for a while, (it was not a real puncture)

Are your wheels badly kerbed?
I origionally took it to a tyre place and they found no puncture so re-seeled it and put a new valve on. Then it still kept losing pressure over a few days.

I got the wheels re-conditioned (i was going to anyway) and hey presto it is ok now though it did need to be re-seeled to the alloy one more time.

If the wheel is badly kerbed it can have an effect, or like mine they had been powder coated twice by a previous person this could of had an effect. :)

Felt good when I checked them the other day and they were fine. :D
