slow williams





Hi !Last week i had my williams on the dynotester.it gives only 158 hp!

why not more?I use a renault sport chip,devil inox manifold,completely devil exhaust,KN inlet filter.

what do you think??i hoped 170 hp,but 158 is not so much.i heard about original willis they had no more than 140 hp on dynotests.

ull be lucky to get 20bhp from the mods mentioned, unless u have internal mods.

Also some rolling roads are low reading, as some are high!

What was the @wheels figure, and torque?

i think you have done well mate those type of mods because they dont give huge power inceases. did yo have your car rolling roaded before the mods? because the chances of you haveing 150bhp exactly are slim. also remember that all rollers give different readings so dont lose sleep over it. where did you have it tested?
 


How to judge if your Williams is too slow.

On a country lane you can get down all the power and use top speed while still maintaining contact with the road - Williams too slow.

On a country lane you cant get down all the power and cant use top speed while the car scrambles for grip on the road - Williams fast enough.
 


i had them on 3 dyno test all the same,between 155 and 158 hp.158 with the Kn direct kit.that gets more power(3 hp) between 2000-4000 rpm,but over that you get all the heat from the engineroom and you lost power.so i drove on street with the Kn inletfilter and original box,and a 60mm pipe in the near of the smoglights.The devil manifold brings 0 hp.you can take him and pull him on the shredder.it brings nothing!!!

i heard in germany the clio willis used the manifold from the 1,8 16v.they said you had more torque with it.the chip brought 2 hp.so my car brings on the wheels 140 hp,engine 158 hp.

158 sounds ok because your mods have gained back bhp you would have lost due to an old engine and a bit more after that.

140 atw is good mate. For real power gains get the head off for some modification, with cams and pulleys.
