Luckily tho the tough little Clio has come off practically unscathed...... broken number plate (can live with that!!) and the bumper mounts on drivers side wheel arch have come away...... see pic, hoping its not gonna be a bix prob to fix (suggestions/advice welcome!) luckily doesnt seem to have pushed the bumper back at all cos was shitting it that it might have gone back into the radiator and fan.......
What a pain!

Occasionally, especially in trainers, if you step in fuel and use the metal pedals - as opposed to rubber ones - you're f**ked for miles as it's tres slippery. I furiously rub my feet on the carpet to get it off. Feel for you, TBH. Yours doesn't look too bad.

Sue the garage owner for allowing his forecourt to get in such a mess?

Yeah was wearing my K Swiss......metal pedals look good but do have there problems!
Yeah thankfully mines come off ok..... that loose wheel arch should hopefully screw back on ok (mechanically minded mates coming to look at it later) hard to see with the wheel on still but didnt fancy taking it off in the pissing down rain!
Yeah i bloody should sue em!

I stood in diesel for the first time ever yesterday (sheltered I know), I couldn't believe how sippery it was, there was a massive puddle of it at the pump, so I assumed it was water, when I nearly stacked it walking in to pay for fuel, I told the guy "there's diesel all over the floor over there" he just said "oh really, and walked off" tit.

Anyways, I digress, I sympathise with your situation, as my pedals were very slippery for some hours afterwards.

Diesel is scary slippy! I came round a bend and thought the road was very greasy so slowed down, came round the next bend and there was a 206 on it's roof and a beemer in the ditch! Scary!

Diesel line along the road from a lorry.

I feel for you, such a stupid thing to happen. I'm pretty sure the garage is obliged to clean any spills up immediately, but it never happens! I agree with the pedals looking good but they can be a pain. I find it a bit even if i just been raining never mind diesel!

Seems ridiculous that its done so much damage to the van!

Yeah diesel is INSANELY slippy!
Yeah the van really did just crumple like paper lol - clios are made of sturdy stuff! ha ha

  Whichever has fuel
I very nearly did the same thing this morning!!
Once it gets on your trainers, they will not stick to the pedals! lol.

Unlucky mate, my foots slipped off the clutch and i've stalled a few times.

You must have been very close to the van to hit it by your foot slipping off the clutch though. Tyres and tarmac always sticks in my mind. I never get too close to the car in front as things like this can easily happen.

Hope you get it all sorted though mate.

I imagined you going crazy inside your car after buying petrol at tesco extra while reading that lol! Funny stuff :)

Hard luck about the bump dude, lessons learnt! Never slipped off a pedal personally.

Yeah i must say i was a little bit closer than i should have been :nono:.......the most embarassing part of it is that I am a PDI (Potential Driving Instructor in Training) So I should have known better and had the handbrake on at least........:eek::rolleyes:
Luckily my insurance is not deducting ALL my NCD, im gonna lose 2 years which is still s**t but better than i had been dreading! And my mechanically minded mate has looked her over and pretty much straightened out the little bit of damage to the N/S wheel arch. Noticed a couple of MICROSCOPIC dents to the front bumper above the number plate and a small graze, but weather permitting going to clean her down and hand polish her tommorow so will hopefully buff out.....if not off to the machine polisher she will go! (got some bad swirling from when ally had it and some t**t at a dealer apparantly washed it with a floor brish and filthy water!)

What a pain, especially since you've had a rough ride with your old RS.
Yeah tell me about it mate, just glad I seem to have come away pretty much un-scathed!
Had a near death experience on the M1 yesterday too, car nearly took me out trying to change into the fast lane! so its been one of thos weekends! :dapprove:
