Small power gains..

Im looking to get some little tweeks done to the engine of my 172 just after Christmas, and I was wondering what would be the easiest and cheapest way of accumulating some extra bhp? I have an induction kit already..

imo....... dont bother tbh. I had a cup, and now have a 182. The cup had a Maxogen, matched and modded plenum and inlets, GRP N remap, decat and exhaust. Its probably a dick hair quicker than my 182. This proved when me (182) mate (my old cup) had a squirt down the local Dual carrage way. It was actually who hit the accelerator first got the slight advantage. Only real difference was i'd spent about another 1k on the cup for nothing LOL!!!

Id say yeah exhaust with Decat - maybe get the inlet ported also. Then id go for reducing weight. remap pretty pointless unless you cmas/bodies etc.. You should feel how heavy the seats/wheels are on the 182 lol

I do agree with Gtgaz also. Its weird how people keep spending though lol. Spose its a hobby though init..

Yep, suspension etc is fine. Unless its the cams route your going down, imo its a waste of ££££££

Well my 172 was definitely quicker with all the mods in place (same as Gaz) than it was stock. Much more driveable too.

but i bet not massivley (sp) so i the real word. A few car lenghts at very most? Still, i have sourced a Maxogen to go on the 182 so i've probebly contradicted myself lol

Im with gaz on this one, having been on blats and driven numerous 172's/ cups/ 182's, and spent lots on modding my car.

Good brakes, coilovers, and an exhaust if you like the noise.

Brakes and coilovers made by far the most difference, the rest just makes a pretty noise.

agree with peperami too, iv not modded mine much but the eibachs were defintely the most noticeable/worthwhile mod.

yeah - You would need a uprated exhaust decat, filter new feeds etc to make the very most of it anyway. But looks good

What do you mean by worth going for.

Its a good value option yes but tunning expensive for the minimal gains realy.

i got an exhaust and ik firstly to make the car sound better. im getting a group n remap just to ensure the engine doesnt run lean. if it goes any better then its a bonus
