Do you have to jailbreak to change your SMS tones ? I dislike the standard ones. But I don't really want to jailbreak atm just for tones.

Is there a way around it ?

Pretty pointless having your phone on silent tbh, might as well leave it at home as you can't hear it, or have to check it every 5 minutes.

The standard ones do suck, I use the glass tone, but you need to jailbreak to change them. I have a few on mine, the old nokia beep is best.

I thought I wasn't "down with it" because I only have the standard tones on the phone. It's still embarassing enough having "Marimba" burst into song every time someone rings, no need for cheesy chart-topping nonsense.

The vibration on the iphone is crap. My Nokia 3310 was better.

Is there a stable jailbreak for 3gs on the latest firmware where I can use cydia & winterboard ? did it with blackra1n on my 3g but don't know if it's the same/will work with 3gs on 3.1.3

If you're on 3.1.3 through the normal channels, and have the latest base band, no.
