snapped drive on snap on 18 in breaker bar

Attempting to remove driveshaft nut and the drive on my breaker bar gave way as the nuts a right b*****d..

Can you buy new drives for them its 1/2 inch? or will i need a new breaker bar also is there anywhere in england that sells snap on as i can only find the u.s

There are many Snap on dealers in the UK, the one I use is in Middlewich, Cheshire. Their number is 01606 734 130, they can pretty well get any parts in you need and forward them on, but might be worth trying to find out who your area rep is, so they can do it under the life time guarantee thingy. Is it the ratchet mechanism bit that’s gone (the little tab where it’s 'on or off')?

Sounds like a nightmare lol. Yeah they keep those on the dealer vans, I have to get new ones every few months lol. Shouldn't cost you a penny I don't think, just have to find the rep. Might be worth giving that number a ring to find out if they know (Y). If you fancy torqueing the hubs back up once your done, think the setting it 280NM if that helps (Y)

For the size of the nut you are trying to undo, and the torque setting required, I'd be aiming to use a drive bigger than 1/2".

managed to get them off my cup sound with it maybe they werent on as tight as should of been..

any decent breaker bars at halfords you can get? or they all cheap crap

i have a 900mm breaker bar from tool mart and had no problem. Heads are interchangeable for a bigger cupler. ( alen key holding head on )
