G gasman15 Car Clio RS 172 Jun 26, 2014 #1 When removing the gearbox from my 172, some of the bolts have snapped. Due to the position it is impossible to get access to the bottom of the bolt, any one any ideas as to how they can be removed? thanks matt

Carbonraider ClioSport Club Member Car Raider, 172, the van Jun 26, 2014 #8 Wouldn't it be easier removing all bolts, drop the subframe and remove captive nuts with remaining bolt still in place. I would of thought the captive nuts would give way before the bolt to be honest.

J Jaff. Jun 26, 2014 #10 I'd drop the subframe anyway purely for access reasons tbh. Know a welder? Weld a nut onto the broken bolt and try again?
