snow foam and wax

like the title really, does anyone use it and to what sucess?

The idea behind it is either to pre-soak and loosen the grime before a bucket wash or even to reduce the need to use a wash mitt at all.

I have not got a pressure washer but use a pre foam soak before washing with the Gilmour and a hose using a mix of small amount of snow foam and Meguiars Hyper Wash. Works best on dry car, i,e dont pre rinse with water first, spray the foam on the car and let it dwell and run down the car taking any dirt with it. While it does that I fill some buckets . Then I just wash normally using the two bucket method and wash mitts. I don't trust it to clean the car stand alone on Black.

i know am bein a pain but i really want it spelt out to me, i dont want to make my car look like a 2year old has scribbed on it lol and with mum fundin the arrangement i kinda want to get all the right stuff first time around.

Don't use the Snow Wax for the waxing, use a wax you apply by hand, if your getting from Matt at i4detailing then go for one from this lot (don't know what to recommend of the Dodo as I've not tried them myself).

I would probably go for a proper carnuba wax rather than the Snow Wax. All depends how much time you have but I would say a pot of carnuba will give better looks and durability.

As to whether the Snow Foam will clean the car up to a standard your happy with I would not like to say, it won't for me.

To get the best out of the paintwork the prep work and polishing creates the most of the looks without that stage you won't get the best results you can. Something like a coat of Autoglym Super Resin Polish and a coat of carnuba wax will yield better looks.

My process for you would be something like this if working bay hand:

Pre Foam - Snow Foam
Wash - Meguiars Shampoo Plus or Duragloss Wash
Clay - Meguiars Quick Clay
Swirl or Defect removal - Menzerna Intensive Polish PO91L and or Meguiars Scratch X
Mild Polish/Paint Cleaner and prepare for Sealant with Autoglym Super Resin Polish
Seal with Autoglym Extra Gloss Protection or Jeffs Acylic Jett Trigger
Wax - Depending on how much you want to spend.

Under 20 quid - Vicoria Concous
Under 30 quid - Chemical Guys 50/50
Under 40 quid - Swissvax Onyx (my choice if budget allows)


If you don't need long lasting durability and just want out and out looks, ditch the SRP and EGP/Jeffs and use a nice pre wax cleaner or Glaze and go straight to wax

Pre Foam - Snow Foam
Wash - Meguiars Shampoo Plus or Duragloss Wash
Clay - Meguiars Quick Clay
Polish as above.
Prep paint for wax, Swissvax Cleaner Fluid or Clearkote Vannilla Moose Glaze
Wax as above
