Snow Foam Lance?

  MK2 Clio
Hi I have a few questions, firstly is the lance just the nozzle and container and what is the liquid actually called? Will autoglym pressure washer shampoo work? Or is there a specific one for Snow Foam?

Thanks

Yes the lance is a nozzle and a bottle that connects to your pressure washer lance, there all different foams out there, I use valetpro.

The liquid is actually called Snow Foam. But you can use All Purpose Cleaners, shampoos and other products in them, dependant on what you require.

The thing to look out for is a pH neutral shampoo or Snow Foam. I tend to use Megs Hyper Wash as it produces a decent foam and has a good cleaning action, while being pH neutral and dilutes down very well (400:1 - very cost effective).

Dont buy the Karcher foam lance because its cheaper there is a reason for that its 5hite.

^ Have used this along with a dash of APC and was very surprised how 'foamy' the solution produced

Careful with the APC chap, remember that is likely to strip some of the LSP. Great for a foam pre detail, but as an ongoing pre wash, I would stick with just the MHW.

^ Don't panic JD, was used prior to a full detail ;)

Oh and its not a regular choice but wanted to test it out on the Mini a few weeks back

In that case, it's a valuable addition. Works wonders on cutting through grease and other contaminants - like you say, pre detail.

To be honest my only reason for using it was that i had been down on a building site working and even though i parked the car as far away as possible the dirt/film attracted was horrid.
Not only did it produce a great thick foam but more importantly it lifted so much of the dirt/film it was brilliant. Although snow foam is great a little help/assistance from a splash of APC works wonders, but like you mentioned, only if the process consists of a full detail to the paintwork

How much APC do you suggest putting in? Just a dash?

Reason I ask is because my car hasn't been washed for over 4 months (I know it's a long time but I've been gathering products so I can crack on with it when some decent weather comes) and it's got no protection on at all. I want the to get rid of as much dirt before actually washing, claying and using my Werkstat Acrylic Kit.

^ well i got the Dispenser Pumps on alot of my stuff so just one squirt is all used. To be honest if you are planning on going the full hog in terms of adding protection at the end then i doubt it matters overly how many dashes/squirts you opt to put in with your Snow Foam solution.

If i am wrong i will be put right shortly.........
