It looks purrrrdy! Any one else got a picture of their car under going some foamy love?

I really want a foam lance but I have a sloped and shared drive so it would make a bit of a mess of the neighbours section, sucks.

I'm still using the karscher lance and AG Pressure washer shampoo. Both not designed to be snow foam things :( lol!

Hmm my snowfoam is turned to max (on full towards the "+" for the mixture) yet my car doesnt seem to get coated as thickly, it looks more like JasonE's by the time ive finished covering it.

I think i might try Harphams ghetto method of removing the feeder tube from the bottle, and rotating the bottle to sit above and rely on gravity. See if it helps improve the mixture lol :)

You need a pressure washer, and a £50 attachment lance thing.

See i4detailing and use the cliosport discount code.

I like the citrus stuff over the normal which is also available at i4detailing.

i find if you add a little shampoo to the snow foam it gets really foamy:approve:

JD's just snow foamed his pants with this thread. Cue 56k destruction (although surely no-one still uses that....?)

Cleaning power on all of these will be relatively similiar. I'm more interested in it's LSP stripping abilities, or lack there of...

Megs Hyper wash for this boy. Works a treat.

Ahh, I actually used it the proper way now and it still has the same effects, works just as well :)

Interesting one. Try putting the pressure washer on and start spraying the snow foam. Turn the mixture down to the lowest setting and then up it slowly and surely...

I had a friend's lance not work properly. Turned out the pressure was too high and was causing it to leak, meaning the pressure wasn't sufficient to create a thick foam.

Thanks JD, your right it does leak now you mention it but i never thought anything of it. I will give this a bash next time :)

No problem lad, let me know. Considering replacing mine as there is a group buy on DW at the moment...

I want proper foam but I'm a pikey student. And may get a MP before anyway.

Whats the point in the foaming? What's wrong with a bucket and sponge? (or the 2 bucket method as I use!)

That's not a dig btw, if you convince me otherwise I may have to make a few purchases.

What pressure washers are good too?

There is nothing wrong with using a bucket and sponge like you say chris however te snow foam is simply a pre cleaning aid, plus is also extremely fun to use and gets the neighbours curtains twitching.

I had a car literally stop outside my house the other day as I was mid snow foaming my mini.

It's like there is nothing wrong with using a dust pan and brush when there are hoovers on the Market.....

Are you saying I'm poor? And yes, I do cut the grass with nail clippers. lol.

Fair play, seems a bit of a gimmick to me, I'll stick with the sponge/wash mitt! I do however like the idea of rotary polishing...something I may have to invest in at some point.

I want to try that Autobrite stuff. Looks awesome, as does the Rain Repellent tested on DW.

I added a dash of BTBM to i4detailing snow the result was thick clingy foam - this was 8 Mins in...

I have no intention of trying to convince you. Snow foam has its uses, if you feel/think you might need it, buy it. But it will help your paint work to look like this;

Again buddy, not a dig, but you're either into detailing or your not! :)

Not exactly true. A bucket and sponge will cause the second picture. Granted to 90% of the population swirls and marring are not something they think about. But then again, the same could be said for a car forum. 90% of the population won't know Stealers rip you off, or how you could gain a few bhp by using Optimax, or discounts from tyre companies etc.

Again, I know how written word comes across and just to note, this is not an arsey comment :) Simple fact is, there is a market for snow foam. You're either in the market for something to help keep your paint in tip top condition, or you're not :)

Lol at the nail clippers comment. Like that!

If you're interested in rotary polishing, it's going to be a waste of time.

You might as well try and prevent the reason for machine polishing, because if you have the car detailed, either by your own fair hand or by a pro's, as soon as you wash it a week later, the paint will be back on course to looking like the second photo... i.e. a waste of time!

Showing your age dude. Most of the kiddies on here weren't even born when it was called Optimax.

+1 for the rest of the post though.

Chris

Edit: IMHO, most people (myself included) would almost certainly be better off getting a pro to do a correction detail and then putting effort into maintaining it, rather than get into machine polishing. However, I seem to have more money than sense. Did I mention I have a Renault :D

Lol, missed that one. Can't even remember what the hell it is now?!

As above. Get a pro to fix the car's paint, then buy the right equipment to maintain it, i.e. washmitt, two buckets, etc.

Chris, I missed your last question pal, apologies!

Karcher are a very well known brand. They are pretty reliable from all accounts. I have one and find it perfectly acceptable!

There are quite a few other makes out there, like Nilfisk that quite a number of people are also getting good reviews from. But they are substantially more expensive. But I guess you get what you pay for.

Have a look through Tescos and Argos sites as there are quite a few deals on there at different times of the year.
