So much for plain sailing.

Dropped the car off to Renault Coulsdon this morning. Last thing I expected was a phone call at 4.30 to say "Your cambelt is different to the one registered to your chassis number. Its not something we could have seen coming, only when we got to the appropriate stage could we tell."

My response "So you've ordered the wrong parts?" to which I got "No. Its different to what we expected. Renault must have fitted a different one when the car was produced"

How on earth can a chassis number not hold the correct information? TBH I think they may have c*cked up. Big time.

So I've asked for the additional money off for the inconvenience caused. Which is quite a bit, at least I get to add to my already extended Easter Holiday however added to my work load for the next week.
(I had a £100 off voucher for the belt already - They didn't sound too happy with me asking for more off!!)

they could be telling the thruth to an extent, i work in parts for VW and its quite common for the system to show the wrong parts, but to be fair any tech's with half a brain and a tiny bit of product knowledge should have noticed.

I really have no idea. I Dropped it off at 10! But it was having an oil change/filter/coolant and a Air Con Regas.

I did think twice about going down to Rentech for the day but then came across online vouchers - All the above for £140 Labour & Parts.

This the One on/before the A23. Never got the best service from them myself, so stopped going to that one.

Thats the one, by Coulsdon South Railway. They recently moved the service dept back from Beddington Cross, service wasnt too bad down there.

I just worry about the state the car's been left in overnight!
