the thing is... its a different head unit and amp....

so it cant be them???

also for got to ask when wireing up whats the best way to do it because the fuse keeps popping

Easy, wire could be broken inside but doubt it(could happen tho)

you got any spare wire atall hanging about? use speaker wire if you have to will still do the job but it wont be Blue

no, im unsure what you mean by this...

I'll try and explain it even easier.

look behind the HU, at the end of the renault wiring loom there is a red bullet connector and a yellow bullet connector. One wire goes to the battery the other goes to the ignition... permanent live problems are often resolved by unplugging the 2 wires and swapping them over.

Try it, there are no ill side effects and if it's still the same you can swap them back.

will do! i cant see it being this as ive had 3 clios (all the same wiring) and ive had a sub and amp in this car for 4/5 months so will try.

i could wire it up to me neons, that would show weather it was live

Right... The blue wire shown in pic 2 IS a PERMANANT live.

i have just wire it up to my neons (which came on) and the keys wernt in the ignition
picture on the top of the ead unit didnt tell me anything!

You'll have to use your neons to find a switched live, it'll be either the red or yellow wire going into the headunit, just splice into the switched live and your sorted

Right, The normally correct ISO position for the switched remote feed output is pin six.

Normally this is blue, But in your photo it's green, Next pin to the red which is the switched ignition feed.

What make is your head unit ? It's not got the normal pin out colours, If you stick your amp remote lead (Grey) onto the red this will switch it with the key.

The blue wire that you have the amp connected to is the pin for the phone mute on the original radio, So might be getting back fed off the car.

This pin when grounded would bring up "Speech" on the display.
